စစ္ဘက္အုပ္စိုးသည့္ အာဏာရွင္စနစ္မွ ဒီမိုကေရစီစနစ္သို႕ ကူးေျပာင္းႏိုင္ခဲ့ျခင္းအတြက္ ထိုက္တန္စြာတုံ႔ျပန္သည့္အေနျဖင့္ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံ အေပၚ ထားရွိေသာ စီးပြားေရးပိတ္ဆို႕အေရးယူမႈမ်ား ဖယ္ရွားေပးရန္ ျပင္ဆင္ ထားျပီး ျဖစ္ေၾကာင္း အေမရိကန္သမၼတ အိုဘားမားက ထုတ္ျပန္ေၾကညာလိုက္သည္။

ထိုထုတ္ျပန္ေၾကညာခ်က္ကို ႏုိင္ငံေတာ္၏အတိုင္ပင္ခံပုဂၢဳိလ္ ေဒၚေအာင္ဆန္းစုၾကည္ႏွင့္ အိမ္ျဖဴေတာ္ရွိ ဘဲဥပုံရုံးခန္းတြင္ ေတြ႔ဆုံေဆြးေႏြးျပီးေနာက္ ထုတ္ျပန္ခဲ့ျခင္း ျဖစ္သည္။

"ဒီကေန႔မွာေတာ့ ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔ႏိုင္ငံက ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံအေပၚ ထားရွိခဲ့တဲ့ ပိတ္ဆို႕အေရးယူမႈေတြကို ဖယ္ရွားေပးဖို႕ ျပင္ဆင္ထားျပီး ျဖစ္ပါတယ္" ဟု အိုဘားမားက ေျပာၾကားခဲ့သည္။

ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံတြင္ ေအာင္ျမင္သည့္ လူမႈေရး၊ ႏိုင္ငံေရးအေျပာင္းအလဲမ်ားေၾကာင့္ ေဆာင္ရြက္ရျခင္း ျဖစ္ေၾကာင္း ညႊန္းဆိုခဲ့သည္။

"ျမန္မာျပည္သူေတြအတြက္ ထိုက္တန္တဲ့ ဆုလာဒ္အေနနဲ႔ စီးပြားေရးလုပ္ငန္းေဆာင္ ရြက္မႈ နည္းလမ္းအသစ္ကို ျမင္ေတြ႕ႏိုင္ဖို႕အတြက္ ဒါဟာ လုပ္ေဆာင္ေပးရမယ့္ လုပ္ရပ္အမွန္ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္" ဟု ၄င္းက ေျပာၾကားခဲ့သည္။

မည္သည့္အခ်ိန္တြင္ ဆန္ရွင္ ရုပ္သိမ္း ဖယ္ရွားေပးမလဲ ဟု သတင္းေထာက္ တစ္ဦးက ေမးျမန္းရာတြင္ "မၾကာခင္ပါပဲ" ဟု အိုဘားမားက ျပန္လည္ ေျဖၾကားခဲ့သည္။

အေမရိကန္ျပည္ေထာင္စုမွ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံအေပၚ ထားရွိေသာ ပိတ္ဆို႕အေရးယူမႈမ်ားမွာ ဥပေဒ (၅)ခု၊ သမၼတအုပ္ခ်ဳပ္ေရးအမိန္႕ (၆)ခုတို႕ျဖင့္ ေဆာင္ရြက္ထားျခင္း ျဖစ္သည္။

ဥပေဒမ်ားကို ဖယ္ဖ်က္ႏိုင္ရန္ ကြန္ဂရက္မွ ကြန္ဂရက္၏ လုပ္ထုံးလုပ္နည္းမ်ားႏွင့္အညီ ေဆာင္ရြက္ရမည္ ျဖစ္ျပီး သမၼတအုပ္ခ်ဳပ္ေရးအမိန္႔မ်ားမွာလည္း ထုိဥပေဒမ်ားႏွင့္ ခ်ိတ္ဆက္ထားျခင္း ျဖစ္သည္။

ထို႕ေၾကာင့္ ဆန္ရွင္ဖယ္ရွားေရးအတြက္ အခ်ိန္အနည္းယူရန္ လိုအပ္ျခင္းေၾကာင့္ "မၾကာခင္" ဟု သမၼတအိုဘားမားက ေျဖၾကားခဲ့ျခင္း ျဖစ္သည္။

Obama to lift sanctions on Myanmar

President Obama announced Wednesday he’s prepared to lift economic sanctions on Myanmar, rewarding the former military dictatorship for its move toward democracy.

The president made the announcement after meeting with the country’s de facto leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, in the Oval Office.

Obama said he is “now prepared to lift sanctions that we have imposed,” pointing to a “remarkable social and political transformation” in Myanmar.

“It is the right thing to do to ensure that the people of Burma see rewards for a new way of doing business,” he said, sitting beside Suu Kyi. The military junta in Myanmar changed the country's name from Burma in 1989.

Asked by a reporter when sanctions will be lifted, Obama replied, “soon.”

The White House announced Wednesday it restored trade benefits for the country that were suspended under President George H.W. Bush.

The administration relaxed bank sanctions on Myanmar in May.
